Terms of Service

Last updated: May 19, 2026

1. Welcome

By creating an account on Active Plays you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for the activity that happens under your account. You must be 13 or older to register; minors under 18 need a guardian's permission to join physical events.

3. Joining events

Sports involve physical risk. By joining an event you confirm that you are physically able to participate and that you take part at your own risk. Active Plays is not a substitute for medical advice or professional coaching.

4. Community rules

No harassment, hate speech, doping, fraud, or impersonation. Hosts may remove anyone who breaks these rules; we may suspend accounts that repeatedly do.

5. Hosting events

Anyone with an account can submit an event for listing on Active Plays. Submissions enter a moderation queue and only go live once an admin approves them. We review the queue 2–3 times each day and aim to make a decision within 24 hours; in rare cases (weekends, holidays, surges in submissions) it may take longer. Material changes to an approved event — date and time, location, city, price, or capacity — automatically return it to the queue for re-review. Cosmetic edits (title, description, emoji, age range, reserved-slot count) publish immediately. We reserve the right to reject any submission that breaches these Terms, conflicts with another booking, lacks adequate detail, or that we judge unsuitable for the platform.

6. Payments, listing fees & refunds

If an event is paid, the host's refund policy applies — Active Plays acts as the booking platform only. The standard listing fee for submitting an event is €5 per submission. To celebrate our launch, listings are free for a limited time (currently through 16 June 2026, see the create-event page for the live cutoff); after the promo ends, the €5 fee applies again. When the fee applies, free-tier organisers authorise the amount on submission via Stripe; the hold is captured only if an admin approves the event, and released if the event is rejected. Card-network authorisations typically expire within seven days; submissions not reviewed within that window may be removed and you'll need to resubmit.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms occasionally. We'll notify active users by email of any material change.
